Well it's been a busy week for Randy and I.  Lot's of appointments.  We had the CT scan on Tuesday.  On Wednesday the Doctor called as he had the results of the scan so bumped up our appt with him to Thursday afternoon at the Richmond Diagnostic Center (old Children's hospital).

Here is what we found out:
  • the tumor in his esophagus is showing signs of shrinking - Yay!!
  • Randy has some small blood clots in his lungs - now having to give himself shots of  Tinzaparin everyday to get rid of them.  We had our teaching appointment on Thursday at the Foothills in the morning.  This drug therapy will not effect any of the other treatments and it also means Randy will have to go for blood work for the next couple weeks twice a week.
  • the tumors on the liver are growing and there is a lymph node close to his spine at the level of the stomach and esophagus that has grown. This could be the one of the reasons for his back pain along with the blood clots.
  • we have now been referred to the Oncology Specialist for a Chemotherapy consult.  This is booked for Thursday Nov 28th.  Now begins our next step on this journey with cancer.
Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.” ~ Groucho Marx

Love to all
Randy, Kim and boys.
