It was a pretty rough night last night.  Randy was not able to get much sleep.  Had trouble getting comfortable and seemed to be coughing more.  Had a real bad case of the chills around 4 this morning, we tried everything to get him warm again.  By early morning he was finally able to sleep.

Radiation Therapy starts

Praise God we finally we got the call this morning.  Randy will be starting Radiation on Thursday Sept 5th.  It's still kinda depressing that its another week away  :(

We are remaining positive and pray that the radiation will do what needs to be done.  The feeding tube is very annoying.  Randy can't wait to actually chew something and swallow it!!  We are now picking out the menu for his first meal he can eat!!

Had a not bad night.  Sleep is still interrupted but still way better then being in the hospital in a room with other patients.

Had a not bad day today.  Randy spent the day watching Band of Brother's with Matthew in-between the cat naps he had.  There was only one bout of nausea today, which is wonderful.

No call today from the Tom Baker Cancer Centre for our first appointment for Radiation Therapy.  Finger's crossed it's soon.

Aug 28th:

Randy has had the scan to have the marks put on his body for the Radiation Therapy.  Now we are waiting for a call within the next 9 days for the treatments to start.  They are hoping to shrink the tumor in the esophagus so that he will be able to eat normally again.

Randy is sleeping a bit better at home rather than in the hospital.  Though it is still difficult to sleep sitting up.  He must be at a 30 degree angle while feeding overnight.
